A cryptic message from Bond’s (Daniel Craig) past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M (Ralph Fiennes) battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE (IMDB).
Let’s face it, who hasn’t seen every Bond film during a marathon on cable? Still the best Bond in this film critic’s humble opinion will always be Sean Connery but truth be told Daniel Craig is quickly becoming a close second. Ever since the franchise was revamped with Daniel Craig the Bond films have been taken to a higher level which is a wonderful thing. Not only has the writing gotten better but the films overall have more over the top production value and suspense.
Fans of Bond will not be disappointed with this latest installment because it as well written and action packed as the previous films with Craig at the helm. The opening sequence is a masterfully woven sequence both musically and visually that draws the viewer into the action from the first frame. And, of course there are the usual beautiful bombshells and damsels in distress which is the norm in any Bond film. Thankfully these roles in the newer Bond films are written as much stronger smarter characters and not the helpless women as in the past films.
Surely this film will be another blockbuster film for the Bond franchise and most will look forward to seeing it added to the Bond marathons in the future.
