AMSTERDAM

In the 1930’s, three friends, Burt Berendsen (Christian Bale), Valerie Voze (Margot Robbie), and Harold Woodman (John David Washington), witness a murder, are framed for it, and uncover one of the most outrageous plots in American history (IMDB).

I simply cannot say enough good things about this film. It is one of the most well written, cast, acted and made films I have seen in a while. There are too many outstanding actors in this film to mention. But, I must mention Bale’s portrayal as Burt because it is spectacular. In addition, of coarse to the main trio of characters Robert Di Niro is equally wonderful. There are also too many great and unexpected cameos to mention.

The writing is well thought out and has depth. There are no gaps in the flow and cadence of the plotline which is refreshing. I hate it when the obvious is overlooked in films and that simply does not happen here. If you looking for an interesting, well-written and acted film then this is the one for you. I would definitely pay full price to see this one.
