Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), along with Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michele Pfeiffer), explore the Quantum Realm, where they interact with strange creatures and embark on an adventure that goes beyond the limits of what they thought was possible (IMDB).
I really enjoyed the first two films in the Ant Man Marvel Comic Universe (MCU). So, I went into this one cautiously optimistic, and fortunately, I was not entirely disappointed. The story is not new, but the writing, actors, and special effects provide a fun ride from beginning to end.
The clan inadvertently gets transported back to where Janet was marooned for a long time. The only problem is that she wasn’t forthcoming about what happened while she was there, and now they must band together to fight the bad buy to get home.
For the most part, I enjoyed all the characters and enjoyed the imaginative aliens and bad guys. However, there was one character I could not stand. I won’t give anything away, but I am sure you will recognize the character when you see it. I really didn’t like that character, but it by no means should stop you from seeing this film.
If you are a fan of the MCU, then this film is definitely for you. I would also recommend seeing it on an IMAX screen because it makes the 3D look infinitely better. It is worth the price.
