Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s (Chris Pratt) true parentage (IMDB).
Visually this film is spectacular and all of the beloved characters are back as well as a couple new faces. We finally learn where Quill comes from and that his father is a being named Ego portrayed by Kurt Russell who is an excellent choice. What is even more amazing is the CGI effect of Russell as a young man who falls in love with his mother, in a word it is stunning because it looks so real. Another surprising addition is Sylvester Stallone as Stakar Ogord the scavenger leader. Surely, he will be more crucial in the upcoming installments because we barely see him here. Guardian fans are looking forward to seeing this latest installment of the franchise, which also includes this film reviewer. The first film is an exciting, fun ride from beginning to end and thankfully, for the most part so is this film, although some may not agree.

At two hours and fifteen minutes, shortening it would have been best. The storyline is well written, the acting is spot on as in the first film and it is definitely worth seeing in 3D on the big screen. Oh, and little Groot steals the show in many scenes!
