In their new overseas home, an American family soon finds themselves caught in the middle of a coup, and they frantically look for a safe escape in an environment where foreigners are being immediately executed (IMDB).
To say this film is a not stop extremely suspenseful roller coaster ride is an understatement. Jack (Owen Wilson) and Annie (Lake Bell) Dwyer along with their two young children arrive in an Asian country bordering Vietnam to start a new life. Almost immediately the adrenaline rush of non-stop action begins as we watch this family desperately trying to exit the country with their lives. Having seen Wilson in many not so great roles in the past he does a great job here as Dwyer, an engineer just trying to get his family to safety.
There are no special effects in this film because it is just a non-stop killing fest. Don’t get me wrong it is not overtly gory but let’s face the facts the locals are bent on killing any and all foreigner’s period. This film is definitely not for the faint of heart or the kiddies. This film will make most think twice about travelling abroad.
