The story of Steve, an Adélie penguin, on a quest to find a life partner and start a family. When Steve meets with Wuzzo the emperor penguin they become friends. But, nothing comes easy in the icy Antarctic (IMDB).
Disney has created another film for children of all ages. This film follows Steve as he traverses his life in the Antarctic. What is slightly different here is the use of music and the voice of Ed Helms as the narrator because he brings humor to the mix. Trying to survive in the Antarctic is not an easy thing and the addition of music and humor helps the viewer through all of the trials and tribulations along the way.
The Disney filter helps this film be suitable for all ages but also makes it quite sterile. I believe in making films for a younger audience to learn but glossing over most of the bad things that can and do happen is a hard line to follow.
This film did not give me the same feeling as
watching March of the Penguins but it
is a good family oriented film about Penguins. No need to pay full price, catch
a matinee or better yet wait for it to air on cable.
