The friendly-but-forgetful blue tang fish (Ellen DeGeneres) reunites with her loved ones and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way (IMDB).
PIXAR has a knack for taking the mundane and making it extraordinary. It is amazing how a simple story about fish can draw in audiences of all ages and actually make them care deeply for each and every character. DeGeneres, the prefect choice for this role, is back as Dory, a loveable blue fish who has short term memory loss therefore making it difficult for her to have friends and just live life in general. Dory finally remembers where she was born and her family and decides to embark on a journey to find them.
All of the usual characters are back from Finding Nemo plus a few new ones. The characters are written so incredibly well which makes it nearly impossible not to care about each and every one of them. It is the extreme attention to detail and the fantastic writing that makes PIXAR films so great. Throw in several laugh out loud moments along with deeply heartwarming moments and what is left is a great film experience for kids of all ages who will love this movie just as much as the original.
