Having seen every X-Men film ever made this film reviewer was not necessarily looking forward to seeing this film. However, the trailer made this film look interesting and worth a look. Thankfully, that impression was correct. This latest and last Wolverine film is one of the best of the lot. There is definitely a reason why this film has an “R” rating. It is the grittiest, intense, and most gut wrenching film in the series.
Watching Wolverine and Professor Xavier in their later years is both fascinating and saddening. It is remarkable that the filmmakers were willing to explore these characters at this point in their lives because it is not typically in these types of films. The last installment saw younger actors taking over for the older actors in these beloved roles.
