A MAN CALLED OTTO

Otto (Tom Hanks) is a grump who’s given up on life following the loss of his wife and wants to end it all. When a young family moves in nearby, he meets his match in quick-witted Marisol (Mariana Trevino), leading to a friendship that will turn his world around (IMDB).

Hanks gives an absolutely spectacular performance in his role as Otto because he convincingly portrays a curmudgeon. At first, this film seems quite tragic but slowly things to take a turn. Trevino also give a great performance as Marisol because she basically doesn’t take “no” for an answer. She slowly breaks down Otto’s walls and helps him realize there is still meaning in life.

This film is extremely well written, acted, and made. If you are a fan of Hanks then you must not miss this film. I would recommend you watch Finch on Apple+ as well. Although this film is quite good I don’t necessarily think you need to pay for a full price ticket. I would go to a matinee or wait for it to stream.
