Cine las Americas International Film Festival Returns

The 24th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival (CLAIFF24) returns from June 8-12, 2022 in Austin, TX with an excellent collection of films representing over 15 countries throughout Ibero-America. The Opening Night film stars Academy Award Winner, Javier Bardem, in El Buen Patron (The Good Boss) at the AFS Cinema.

A badge can be purchased to attend the 5-day festival, as well as individual tickets to CLAIFF24 showtimes at AFS Cinema. Documentary and Narrative Feature Showcase films will be screened as well as the Hecho En Tejas program. Cine Members get a discount and membership can be purchased too.

The Hecho En Tejas centerpiece feature film, What We Leave Behind, follows Austin/El Paso filmmaker Iliana Sosa’s grandfather, who made a 17-hour bus ride every month from Primo de Verdad, Mexico to visit family in El Paso, Texas. The documentary won the Louis Black “Lone Star” Award and the Fandor New Voices Award at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival.
