DISCLOSURE DAY

If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you (IMDb.com)?

Steven Spielberg takes us on a wild ride with those who want to discover the truth about the existence of aliens on Earth. His superb writing, ability to choose wonderful actors (Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, and Colin Firth), directing ability to elicit poignant performances, and stunning visual effects, along with great music. We are taken on an intellectually stimulating ride watching the characters try to find answers while others try to stop them.

I truly enjoy the way Spielberg uses every part of a scene to convey his message. If there are empty spaces in the shot, he often uses light to add to the overall ambiance. Like shadows moving in the background across window blinds because they help enhance the atmosphere.

Everyone should see this film because it is an open and honest exploration about the all-important question: are we alone? It is PG-13, which means it does not rely on scare tactics to get the point across. It is simply a well-told story from a certain point of view that I completely agree with. The universe is a gigantic, growing place, and it is arrogant of us to think we are the only beings that live in it.
