One night, four killers, one mission…who will come out on top?
Also known as “Far Away Eyes”, this movie is shot in China and follows the encounter of four top assassins after the failure of one of the men to carry out a hit. When Marcus lets a woman live, his life is put on the list for his fellow hitmen to eliminate. Due to the history that three of the four members have, Eli and Coredlia try to help Marcus save his life. Chase, a new-comer to the group, is anxious to prove his worth and willing to kill first and ask questions later. As the clock ticks down to the final hour for Marcus, tensions rise as the group tries to find a way to get out of this one and live to tell the tale.
An interesting story but cut in such a way as to make the story drag along very slowly. It starts off in the middle of a fight, then back before the hit, then back further into each individual’s lives and then back to the fight at the beginning. It wasn’t hard to keep up with where you were in the story, but it was definitely a factor that slowed the story advancement down.
The cast is awesome and very engaging. If not for the caliber of the cast, this story would not have held my interest at all given the slow pace it was set at. The turns that are taken are quick at the end and definitely keep you wondering what will happen next.
Overall, an OK movie. Due to the slow pace, I can’t give this one more than a two. The cast is a saving grace and the interesting storyline is another. If it were cut at a better pace, this movie would definitely be worth something more.
That’s my review and I’m sticking with it.
