Rating: 4.5 (Out of 5 Reels)

The bodyguard Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) continues his friendship with assassin Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson) as they try to save Darius’s wife Sonia (Salma Hayek) (IMDB).

This is the first film in person at the theater in over a year because of COVID. Luckily for me, I really enjoyed the first installment and was looking forward to bit of comedy. Well, I wasn’t disappointed. This film is a fun and entertaining ride from beginning to end. Sure, at times it is ridiculous and the action is unbelievable because the main actors never get wounds from their plight. I mean, everyone who gets ejected from a car through the windshield gets up and walks around without too many scratches, right? Once you suspend belief it is just a whole lot of fun and I for one like hearing Samuel L. Jackson say “mother f#@%*r” in a film. No only him but the other two main characters as well. It is not the frequency but how and when they do say those words that makes it effective. There is also a great cameo by Morgan Freeman that is hilarious when they all first meet.

It has been far too long since I have laughed so much watching a film and it was definitely welcomed at this point in my life. I highly recommend this film if you are the right demographic. It is definitely not for the young ones.
