LOS ANGELES/SEATTLE (May 30, 2013) – Urban Tales Productions announces the world festival premiere of edgy romantic-drama 9 FULL MOONS starring AmySeimetz and Bret Roberts and co-starring Donal Logue, Dale Dickey and Harry Dean Stanton, at the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), Thursday June 6, 2013 at 7:00PM PT at the SIFF Uptown Cinema, 511 Queen Anne Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109 – Q&A with cast and crew to follow.

The film is nominated for a FIPRESCI Award for Best New American Film.
9 FULL MOONS is a powerful, brooding love story about the seemingly implausible relationship between Frankie (Seimetz) and Lev (Roberts), two radically different people who seem to be meant for each other. Set against the country-tinged, singer songwriter hipster music scene of East Los Angeles,Silverlake and Hollywood, the film focuses on the young couple’s struggle with their personal demons as they try to hold on to one another against insurmountable odds.
Frankie is a wildly enigmatic train wreck, a hard-partying social butterfly with an authentic grasp on life. Lev is a solitary, stoic young man with deep aspirations to becoming one of those legendary musical vagabonds he so devoutly looks up to. A near-miss shot of intimacy at an after-hours LA night club leads Frankie and Lev to embark on a frenzied and handicapped affair, their free-spiritedness and non-conformist attitude towards social norms send them off on a rollercoaster ride. In order to jump off that crazy train, and take a serious stab at having a future together, they force themselves to scrutinize and come face-to-face with their painful histories and make peace.
“9 FULL MOONS is a personal love letter to my partner and to the city of angels we both love and hate,” said director Tomer Almagor. “The main characters are always on the move, constantly changing and progressing. Their narrative is a compelling chronicle of the extreme highs and lows of their relationship, but at the heart of it, 9 FULL MOONS is a hopeful love story.”
9 FULL MOONS, like life itself, is filled with contradictions; through Frankie and Lev’s trials and tribulations, the film vacillates between genuinely fresh and oddly romantic moments with scenes of bleak, raw, painful emotions and utter despair. It’s a compelling modern love story that ushers in the dawn of the 21stcentury. 9 FULL MOONS is a unique vice-gripping heart pincher.
“About a minute into my initial conversation with Tomer Almagor I knew I wanted to be a part of the cast of 9 FULL MOONS,” said Donal Logue who plays the role of the flawed, stubborn and reluctantly sympathetic country star Charlie King Nash, with whom Lev teams up to revitalize his music. “Working on9 FULL MOONS reminded me why I got in this profession in the first place.”
“9 FULL MOONS is unique in that it’s a commercially viable film and a film that remains true to its artistic integrity via the universal themes and story lines of life, love and loss,” said producer Gabrielle. “A lot of people struggle with drugs and alcohol as well as forcing themselves to grow up before they figure out who they really are. All of us can relate to the harshness of life and the struggle of love in one way or another.”
9 FULL MOONS is a film that resonates with anyone who has ever been in love, worked hard to make their dreams come true, or tries their best to get through the everyday struggles of being alive on this planet.
