Review: CAPTAIN MARVEL

Rating: 4.5 (Out of 5 Reels)

Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races (IMDB).

Larson gives a great performance as the latest addition to the Marvel superhero movie genre. I for one am glad to see another woman join the superhero ranks especially having her own movie. Sure, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) is wonderful but she is not a superhero. I know and am glad that Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) is there as well but she didn’t have her own film.

In this latest Marvel installment, we watch Danvers journey to discover who she truly is and where she comes from. This film is a fun and entertaining ride from beginning to end. As in the other films, while they develop the main character, other characters from this genre are brought back, like Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg), and along the way previously unexplained happenings are revealed and they make you laugh.

Marvel, yet again, spared no expense creating this film because it is visually stunning. Moreover, why not? I am sure they fully expect this film will be another blockbuster and I believe it will be. If you are a fan of this genre then you must see this film. I am looking forward to watching how Captain Marvel blends into the entire superhero fold in the upcoming Avengers: End Game.
