Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) serves an unflinching justice for the exploited and oppressed, but how far will he go when that is someone he loves (IMDB)?

The trailer for this film piqued my interested. I am a fan of Washington because he is a great chameleon that portrays all kinds of characters and takes on a variety of roles which he performs convincingly. Here he portrays an ex-military commando serving justice up for the little guy. This film is extremely well written, acted and made. Many films rush through everything leaving holes in the plot which does not happen here but they do spend too much time setting up the story. I remember thinking, okay, we get it, please get to the point. Once the action finally starts it is well done but I knew the ending thirty minutes into the film.

Director, Antoine Fuqua has made some entertaining films like The Magnificent Seven, Olympus Has Fallen and King Arthur to name a few. I actually saw some of the first film recently and noticed the same attention to detail and nuance as in the second film. Fuqua is a talented director that brings thoughtful and robust characters to life. If you are looking for a solid action flick this is worth a look.
