Super-assassin John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run after killing a member of the international assassin’s guild, and with a $14 million price tag on his head – he is the target of hit men and women everywhere (IMDB).
Reeves is back as the ever diligent and driven Wick who does what he wants no matter the cost or the rules. I for one do not usually like shoot them up gory type films but this one for me is more than that. Sure, he kills scores of people, but here he simply wants to survive to remember his dead wife no matter the cost. Oh, and there is always a dog involved. In this film it is more of a side character because Wick leaves the dog in the care of the concierge at the Continental (a safe house for people in assassin guild) while he deals with his situation. The cinematography of this film like the previous two is spectacular. Enormous effort is given to the choreography of the fight scenes and they are visually extremely well done.
Reeves is the perfect choice for this role because he knows how to portray the stone-cold character that Wick becomes. I am sure his experience in the Matrix films helped him here immensely. If you are looking for more of the same spectacular ride as in the first two films then definitely see this film. By the way, they left it wide open for a fourth installment. I am sure this one will make enough money to warrant a fourth film.
