Review: JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 2

By Renee’ Collins

Rating: 4 (Out of 5 Reels)

After returning to the criminal underworld to repay a debt, John Wick (Keanu Reeves) discovers that a large bounty has been put on his life (IMDB).

Missing the first installment of John Wick will not matter because this installment stands on its own. This film is a full on action packed killing spree from beginning to end. Wick, supposedly retired from the business, must return against his will. Let the mayhem ensue. Reeves is the perfect choice for this role. This film will surprise viewers because it is extremely well written and acted. Additionally, there are several excellent actors in this film which most will recognize even if they cannot remember their names. Actors like, Ian McShane as Winston, Common as Cassian, Lance Reddick as Charon, Laurence Fishburne as Bower King and John Legizamo as Aurelio.

Notwithstanding the writing and acting, this film has an excellent look and feel that has a positive effect on the viewer. Those of us who saw and liked Red with Bruce Willis will definitely enjoy this film as well. For an entertaining escape from the realities of this world, check this film out as a matinee to save a little cash for popcorn.
