Review: KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE

Rating: 4.5 (Out of 5 Reels)

When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, the Kingsman’s journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US. These two elite secret organizations must band together to defeat a common enemy (IMDB).

I was definitely looking forward to seeing this latest installment of the Kingsman franchise because I have enjoyed Matthew Vaughn’s work in the past. I particularly like his previous work directing and writing the screenplays for Kick-Ass in 2010, X-Men First Class in 2011 and the first film in this series Kingsman: The Secret Service in 2014. All are entertaining films and should not be missed if you like this genre of films. Vaughn definitely has an eye for the details and is able to take mundane fight scenes to another level, which keeps the audience interested.

The usual suspects return here like Taron Egerton as Eggsy, Mark Strong as Merlin and Colin Firth as Harry Hart. All of them are wonderful actors and give another great performance. Some new faces appear as well like Julianne Moore as Poppy and Halle Barry as Ginger.

There is nothing new in regards to the plotline but the fight scenes are spectacular because of the tools the Kingsman use and the manner in which they are shot. If you enjoy this genre of films then this one is definitely worth a look. In fact, I preferred this film slightly more than the first one.
