Review: THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 2

By Renee’ Collins

Rating: 3 (Out of 5 Reels)

As the war of Panem escalates to the destruction of other districts by the Capitol, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), the reluctant leader of the rebellion, must bring together an army against President Snow (Donald Sutherland), while all she holds dear hangs in the balance (IMDB).

Finally the fourth and final film in the Hunger Games series is here!  All of the usual characters are back including a cameo by Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman.  They all deliver adequate performances in this latest film but it felt like they were just going through the motions.  The visual effects are expertly done as in the previous films but unfortunately the writing falls a bit short in the end.  The first three films were entertaining but they waited too long to release part two.  Building marketing potential was probably the goal but some will be glad this saga is finally over.  As per usual one would hope that the books are better than the films.

Unfortunately, this film critic found this film mediocre because it was predictable and too long.
