A young girl, Clara (Mackenzie Foy), is transported into a magical world of gingerbread soldiers and an army of mice (IMDB).

Disney spares absolutely no expense making films that are visually stunning on all levels be it set pieces, costumes or makeup. That trifecta puts their films on another level that few can match. This film is well written and acted because they employ great character actors like Morgan Freeman as Drosselmeyer, Helen Mirren as Mother Ginger, Keira Knightly as Sugar Plum and Matthew Mcfadyen as Mr. Stahlbaum. They are all great actors but believe that having such over the top costumes allows them to give more life to their characters in a special way because they are so vivid and over the top.

The storyline is straightforward and like most Disney films has a heartwarming and self-evaluative element because it leaves the audience a good feeling in the end. There is no doubt that this film will become yet another Disney Christmas classic that should be seen by all, young and the youthful at heart. Seeing this film on the big screen is also a must to appreciate the sets, costumes and makeup.
