Reviews: THE SNOWMAN

Rating: 1 (Out of 5 Reels)

Detective Harry Hole (Michael Fassbender) investigates the disappearance of a woman whose pink scarf is found wrapped around an ominous-looking snowman (IMDB).

I was cautiously optimistic about seeing this film because I have enjoyed roles Fassbender has previously portrayed. Unfortunately, his acting talents could not save this poorly written and made film. This film is slow, boring and barely suspenseful. Fassbender does what he can with the role but the choppiness of the writing and poor editing makes this film feel disjointed.

The main character’s mindset and background are not completely explained which makes it difficult to know why they behave the way they do. Hole tries to figure out who the serial killer is and why he targets the people he does but there is too much distraction and twists along the way that never get resolved.

This film is not at all entertaining so I would not bother spending your hard-earned dollars. When and if it eventually airs on network television you might give it a look. Otherwise, stay away!
