A forgotten Peter Parker (Tom Holland) lives alone as a full-time Spider-Man until mounting pressure triggers a dangerous change and a powerful new enemy emerges (IMDb.com).
This latest installment of the Spider-Man franchise may be my favorite because not only is it visually stunning and well-acted, but, most importantly, extremely well written. Not to say that the more recent films are not great as well, but I believe this one struck an equilibrium between the computer-generated action featuring over-the-top characters with a depth of writing that included the characters’ marked growth.
Here we start right where we left off in the last film, when Parker stoically decided to help the human race, which consequently erased everyone’s knowledge of him, including his best friend, Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), and the girl he loves, MJ (Zendaya).
I cannot tell you how happy I was when they started making these films with stories about what happens to him after he is transformed. I was so sick and tired of seeing the same story done over and over again with different actors. Now we get new stories every time, and I, for one, am ecstatic about it.
I also enjoy how the Marvel universe characters are being woven into and out of all the films, and it will definitely continue in future films. This film is absolutely worth the price of a movie ticket and should be seen on the big screen. You can save a few bucks by going to a matinee.
