Rose, a sweet, lonely driving instructor in rural Ireland, is gifted with supernatural abilities. Rose has a love/hate relationship with her ‘talents’ & tries to ignore the constant spirit related requests from locals – to exorcise possessed rubbish bins or haunted gravel. But Christian Winter, a washed up, one-hit-wonder rock star, has made a pact with the devil for a return to greatness! He puts a spell on a local teenager- making her levitate. Her terrified father, Martin, asks Rose to help save his daughter. Rose has to overcome the fear of her supernatural gift & work with Martin to save the girl, get the guy and be home in time for a light snack…maybe a yogurt or something…
EXTRA ORDINARY
This Irish film is a sweet, funny farce, Rose (Maeve Higgins) is haunted by the belief that she could not save her father from his fate. Martin Martin (Barry Ward) is just plain haunted- his deceased wife is still an aggressive presence in his life, thwarting what he tries to do. Christian Winter (Will Forte) has made his peace with the occult and sold his soul to the devil to regain his former rock star fame. The trouble begins when Martin Martin’s daughter is kidnapped to be a virgin sacrifice to cinch Christian’s deal with the devil, chaos and confusion reign, but by the end, all problems are resolved, not necessarily in ways that each person wants. This is a nice light comedy, that occasionally goes over the top, but with something for everyone.
