This short offers a glimpse into the life of a female refugee stuck in her unlivable servitude as a seamstress, where she is haunted menacingly by visions of her deceased child who drowned.
The film lacks that penetrating haunting punch experienced within other horror-themed shorts. Chi Thai’s work is forgettable and a little sleepy… we were not left wanting to be with the character for any extended time. It would have been more frightening if the protagonist was pulled under the water in the end and having that be the last thing we see of her, with bubbles rising to the top as she drowns…although that would prevent the lullaby from being sung.
