SXSW 2024 Short: Trapped

Directors: Sam CUTLER-KREUTZ, David CUTLER-KREUTZ

SXSW24 NARRATIVE SHORT COMPETITION

2024 – 15 minutes

Drama, Social issues, Thriller

This Short was gripping from start to finish. No surprise it emerged victorious at this year’s SXSW film fest winning best entry in the Narrative short competition, as voted by the Jury.

Excellent performance by the janitor played by ‘Javier Molina’, as he deals with numerous men of Caucasian descent(white) who use their status of economic standing to pressure the Janitor to do what they want and punish him like a child for not obeying them, and all the while as he tries to set a good example for his little son watching everything.

It is a hard-hitting satirical piece portraying powerful white men as the embodiment of society’s evil taking advantage of everyone that they view below them.

The short will leave you wanting more… even a full length feature of this story… and this impact is a hallmark of a great short.
