After many years on top, Burt (Carell) and partner (Buscemi) Anton’s Vegas magic act is losing popularity. Their competition is Steve Gray, the star of the internet sensation ” Mind Rapist”, played by Jim Carrey. He seems to be the new face of magic, though his act mostly consists of weird performance art. As Burt struggles to win back him fame, he is aided by magic assistant Jane (Olivia Wilde) and Burt’s mentor, a retired magician well played by Alan Arkin. The whole cast is outstanding, but Jim Carrey is especially good, he is used just enough, and gets the biggest laughs.
