A fantasy re-telling of the medieval story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel) and the Green Knight (IMDB).
Let me start by saying this film is visually stunning and Dev Patel gives a great performance as Sir Gawain. The problem is this film is way too long. I truly dislike films that prolong scenes needlessly. I realize is it is a bit along the lines of searching for the holy grail and therefore they think it needs endlessly long scenes for dramatic effect. I guess I have seen too many films that make that mistake. I get what they are trying to do but get bored because it takes too long to get there. I realize it is because the character is being tested to discover if they have what it takes to complete the task but it is just something I do not like.
If you are a fan of the genre you will enjoy this film. Like I said it is visually stunning and the actors do a great job in their respective roles.
