Art News: Local Artist Joe Garcia III of History Written in Art to Exhibit in Austin

Joe Garcia III (History Written In Art) will be in attendance at an art show tomorrow, Thursday, June 14th from 6pm – 9pm at Little Mexico Restaurant. Explore the exhibit that will be filled with paintings of cultural art, Chicano family art, sugar skulls and a variety of his other work. During the exhibit, prints will be available for purchase and you can enjoy the sounds of local musical artists, Mariachi Corazon de Tejas.

The artist has exhibits in San Antonio every weekend according to his Facebook page, and he will be on the road to exhibit in Corpus Christi after this one evening exhibit in Austin on Thursday.

Joe has resided in Austin since 1993. Originally from West Texas, Joe calls Lubbock home.

Some of his artistic influences come from a variety of cultures and sub cultures. He explains to his clients “growing up Mexican American, you grow up with the best of both worlds.”

He draws inspiration from his culture, his large family and is greatly encouraged and assisted by his wife Mary R. Garcia.
