In my eight years at TVR, I have always done an end of the year report, but have never done a half-way review. So, allow me to jump on the bandwagon of six month recaps and offer my list of best/favorite films of 2017 so far. My list is based on films officially released in 2017 and not on movies which have only played at film festivals during the year. So far, 2017 has been an exciting year for independent films, intense action flicks, and work from filmmakers who think outside of the box. It has also been a good year for women and women filmmakers. I’d like to think my list reflects all of these wonderful attributes for the year so far. So, without any further build-up here are my top ten films of 2017 released within the first six months of the year.
