Review: BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
By Laurie Coker Rating: A Playing Freddy Mercury, the flamboyant lead singer of the world know band Queen, has obvious challenges – the look, the mannerisms, the sass, and the flair. Mercury, a musical genius and icon, with a voice that filled even the largest venues, died in the 90s of AIDS-related complications. Rami Malek… Continue reading Review: BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
Review: SILENCIO
Lorena Villarreal’s “Silencio” U.S. release in Austin Theaters October 26 By Liz Lopez Rating: B-/C Before I was offered the opportunity to view the film titled “Silencio,” I had not heard of an area in Mexico known as the “Zone of Silence” and that was rather interesting to find out it may be similar to… Continue reading Review: SILENCIO
Fantastic Fest 2018 Review: MID90S
By Mark Saldana Rating: 4 (Out of 4 Stars) Adolescence has always been an awkward and messy time, and the 90s were no picnic either. Jonah Hill makes his directorial debut with this beautiful gem of a coming-of-age film, which covers life as a young teen during the last decade of the 20th century. Hill’s… Continue reading Fantastic Fest 2018 Review: MID90S
Review: BEAUTIFUL BOY
By Liz Lopez Rating: B “Beautiful Boy” is a terrifyingly real look at what addiction looks like in an intelligent, educated young man who seemingly has no reason to live that life. But he does. This drama is an adaptation of two memoirs by writer David Sheff and his son, Nic, who lived a very… Continue reading Review: BEAUTIFUL BOY

Review: JOHNNY ENGLISH STRIKES AGAIN
By Mark Saldana Rating: 1 (Out of 4 Stars) There isn’t too much to say about this sequel, other than it is so unfunny. I can literally count on one hand the few times I either laughed or snorted a little, but these few humous moments were not enough to save this sinking ship of… Continue reading Review: JOHNNY ENGLISH STRIKES AGAIN
Fantastic Fest 2018 Review: BORDER
By Mark Saldana Rating: 3.5 (Out of 4 Stars) I went into this film thinking it was a run of the mill thriller and it is anything but that. This shouldn’t surprise me whatsoever, because this is Fantastic Fest, home of strange and incredible surprises. This bizarrely creative Swedish import left me in awe, but… Continue reading Fantastic Fest 2018 Review: BORDER
