Follow-up to the 2019 feature film in which the Crawley family and Downton staff received a royal visit from the King and Queen of Great Britain (IMDB).

Just about every character is back in this latest version of Downton Abbey. I have seen every episode of the television series as well as the first film. It felt natural to drop back into everyone’s lives in order to see where everyone is now and where they are likely to go.

One notable absence is Matthew Goode who formerly played Lady Mary’s husband. Turns out his work schedule did not allow him to participate. I kept expecting him to show up in a blaze of glory at some point but alas is didn’t happen. Other than that, here we see just about everyone taking the next steps in their lives. Some good and some not so good and I will say no more on that subject.

If you are a fan of this show then you will definitely want to see this film. If you haven’t seen all the episodes you should be able to catch up but knowing the main characters and their background will definitely help. I highly recommend seeing this film and hope there is more in the future.
