Voces is PBS’ signature Latino arts and culture documentary showcase and the only ongoing national television series devoted to exploring and celebrating the rich diversity of the Latino cultural experience. This month, the series returns starting on April 17th featuring Children of Giant a film by Austin filmmaker Hector Galán.
Children of Giant explores Giant’s still timely examination of racial prejudice 60 years after Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, James Dean and a massive crew descended upon Marfa, TX. The film is scheduled to air on Friday, April 17th at 9pm.
Now en Español chronicles the ups and downs of being a Latina actress in Hollywood and presents the lives of 5 dynamic women, who dubbed Desperate Housewives into Spanish for American audiences. It will air April 24th at 9pm.
El Poeta introduces renowned Mexican poet Javier Sicilia, who ignited an international movement for peace after the brutal murder of his son, collateral damage from the drug war. The film is scheduled to air on Friday, May 1st at 9pm.
