Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) assigns Newt (Eddie Redmayne) and his allies with a mission related to the rising power of Grindewald (Mads Middelsen) (IMDB).
I must admit that I am an absolutely science fiction junkie and have seen all the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films. Therefore, I was looking forward to seeing this next installment in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
As with all these films the special effects are stunning which is what we have come to expect. It doesn’t hurt that they have quite the budget. All the usual wonderful characters are back here with the notable exception of Johnny Depp who has been replaced by Mads Mikkelsen. Who gives an outstanding performance as Grindewald. Of course, it must be said that Law was the absolute perfect choice to portray Dumbledore. It was great to see this storyline progress and some of the major plotlines to be concluded. This film is another spectacular addition to the franchise and I look forward to seeing where creator J. K. Rowling takes things into the future.
