(AUSTIN, TX)—The Austin Film Society (AFS) presents Chester Turner Overdrive, an evening with legendary horror movie director Chester Turner on Friday, October 25th at 10 PM, hosted at AFS at the Marchesa (6226 Middle Fiskville Rd). AFS and Vulcan Video are thrilled to welcome the man himself with his bizarre and chilling films BLACK DEVIL DOLL FROM HELL, about a possessed ventriloquist dummy and TALES FROM THE QUADEAD ZONE, one of the more unusual horror anthology films. Turner has been a mystery man, presumed dead by many, but the recent interest in his odd films, including the sale of one videotape copy of TALES FROM THE QUADEAD ZONE on Ebay for nearly $700 has brought him back from the dead as it were. Turner will discuss his movies and life on this very special evening.
