Inspired by the silent comedies of Chaplin and Lloyd, and new cinema véritéapproaches to independent filmmaking, Charles Lane creates a unique and unforgettable modern silent film about a young street artist who befriends an orphan girl. Originally released in 1989, Sidewalk Stories was presented at the Cannes Film Festival, where
it was awarded the Prix du Publique, and in 2013 was an Official Selection of the Tribeca Film Festival.
