Review: A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS

Rating: 2.5 (Out of 5 Reels)

A Bad Moms Christmas follows our three under-appreciated and over-burdened women as they rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for moms: Christmas (IMDB).

The dynamic and over worked and frustrated trio: Amy (Mila Kunis), Kiki (Kristen Bell) and Carla (Kathryn Hahn) navigate the troubled waters known as the Christmas season. Each have their own problems with not only their immediate family that includes their boundary less, over bearing, judging and absent mothers. Ruth (Christine Baranski), Isis (Susan Sarandon) and Sandy (Cheryl Hines) expertly portray what is I am sure are typical mothers who inadvertently drive their children bonkers in general but overwhelmingly during the holidays.

The plot here is simple, daughters who have serious issues with their mothers. I am not a fan of stupid funny films that only have base and crass humor but some of it does work here for the most part. This is definitely not a film for the kids because of the language, content and somewhat vulgar behavior.

The chemistry and angst between the three main characters and their mothers is well written and portrayed but I found the humor a bit lacking. This film would be a fun outing for adults during this Christmas season with friends. Although, I recommend you save some cash and attend a matinee.
