Review: CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Rating: 4.5 (Out of 5 Reels)

Political interference in the Avengers’ activities causes a rift between former allies Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) (IMDB).

While most moviegoers tire from seeing sequel upon sequel in any movie series these films seem to be getting better not worse which a good thing for everyone. Most of the usual players are back for this latest installment.  We are introduced to new characters and some from other superhero franchise movies.  New for those of us who did not read comic books in their youth and are not versed on the myriad of characters in the superhero universe.

The main plot of this film is how several governments all over the world want to keep the Avengers on a leash. These governments want to decide what actions are taken by the Avengers before they are sent out to confront a dangerous and potentially fatal situation for themselves as well as any collateral damage.  So, what is an Avenger to do?  Sign an agreement curtailing their actions or stand outside the law?

The comedic writing is spot on throughout the entire film. Add to that a couple excellent plotline twists and what we are left with is an entertaining and fun ride from beginning to the end.  Unfortunately, for me, there is a major omission in the plot that I found rather egregious but what is left makes up for it. This film is another entertaining superhero film that without a doubt will be another blockbuster.
