Review: GRINGO

Rating: 4 (Out of 5 Reels)

Gringo, a dark comedy mixed with white-knuckle action and dramatic intrigue, explores the battle of survival for businessman Harold Soyinka (David Oyelowo) when he finds himself crossing the line from law-abiding citizen to wanted criminal (IMDB).

Oyelowo is the perfect choice for the role of Soyinka because he brilliantly walks the line between innocent victim and a person who tries to take charge of his life and situation. Although it must be mentioned that Charlize Theron and Joel Edgerton are fantastic as absolutely vile human beings, the type that are only interested in having power and money regardless of the costs.

This film is a fun and entertaining ride from beginning to end but it is a bit longer ride than necessary. I would definitely recommend this film but save some cash and catch a matinee.
