My grandson begged and begged me to take him to the screening of The Lego Movie, as if I wouldn’t, so he and his sister and I took in the Saturday morning screening. When he found out I had been to busy to write my review, he was furious! He told me I had to get the word out that WE L-O-V-E-D the film. So I promised I would post a short one telling all our readers that this is an “awesome” movie and that everyone, regardless of age will LOVE this film.
Engaging characters, a witty script and 3D imagery make The Lego Movie a must see for everyone, not just kids or families, but everyone – young and old. Wonderful voice over talent like that of Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Will Ferrell, Alison Brie and more add delightful personalities to the little plastic characters and brilliant animators bring them to fun and funny life.
With it’s poignant life lessons and fun-loving attitude, The Lego Movie (rated PG) will be nearly impossible to beat as animated film of the year. Yes, I realize it’s only February, but I’m sticking my neck out for this one. It has cameos, creative story twists and a fresh take on tales like that of Adolus Huxley and his Brave New World. In my grade book and in that of my grand kids, it earns and A+.
