Review: MINIONS

By Renee’ Collins

Rating: 3.5 (Out of 5 Reels)

Minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob are recruited by Scarlet Overkill (Sandra Bullock), a super-villain who, alongside her inventor husband Herb (Jon Hamm), hatches a plot to take over the world (IMDB).

Minions is a fun ride that takes the viewer all over the world and in all languages including some non-existent ones. The minions especially Stuart, Kevin and Bob are completely adorable as in their debut film Despicable Me and the sequel Despicable Me 2. They obviously made an impression on moviegoers to warrant getting their own film. The storyline is simple enough, find a new super villain to worship and do their bidding.

This 3D computer effects seen here are nothing new and don’t really add anything. While parts of this film are wildly imaginative and laugh out loud funny other parts are the exact opposite. Even though this film is only nicely minutes most adults will probably, like myself, want this film to end quicker than it actually does. Kids of all ages will undoubtedly flock to see this film.  Although it is entertaining and funny save a few bucks by going to a matinee.
