Review: MOANA

Rating: 5 (Out of 5 Reels)

A young woman (Auli’I Cravalho) uses her navigational talents to set sail for a fabled island. Joining her on the adventure is her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui (Dwayne Johnson) (IMDB).

Disney has managed to find another spectacular voice in Cravalho who was actually born in Oahu for the role of Moana. Sure, Johnson has previously done voice work in movies and videogames but he is not necessarily known for his singing ability. Believe it or not he has an excellent singing voice and gives a stellar performance as Maui. Another talent to add to his list. Some might also recognize Alan Tudyk’s voice who has done a myriad of films.

This film has a well thought out storyline and expectedly no expense is spared in making it visually stunning and cute which is Disney specialty. Moana is another in a long line of absolutely wonderful Disney films that is sure to become an instant classic. This child at heart looks forward to more in the future.
