Review: THE ACCOUNTANT

By Renee’ Collins

Rating: 3.5 (Out of 5 Reels)

As a math savant (Ben Affleck) un-cooks the books for a new client, the Treasury Department closes in on his activities and the body count starts to rise (IMDB).

Christian (Affleck) is a math wiz, an extreme that makes everyday life challenging and because he is extremely socially introverted, he is off-putting to almost everyone. To make matters worse, he occasionally works for some seriously dangerous people and this makes him even more of an introvert because at times they come after him because he knows too much.

Affleck give a great performance as the low key savant. Throughout the film there are flashbacks explaining what it was like growing up and how his father dealt with his problem. However, one of Christian’s big issues is that he likes to finish things no matter how small and this small character trait tends to get him into an enormous amount of trouble.

This film is low key but straight forward and Affleck delivers a great performance. It is definitely worth a look.
