Review: TOMORROWLAND

By Renee’ Collins

Rating: 3 (Out of 5 Reels)

Bound by a shared destiny, a teen, Casey Newton (Britt Robertson) bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor, Frank Walker (Thomas Robinson & George Clooney) embark on a mission to unearth the secrets of a place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory (IMDB).

When Casey touches the “T” pin she is transformed into a seemingly magical futuristic world which captures her imagination and curiosity.  After her experience she stops at nothing to get back in order to discover its origins and secrets.

The acting is well done but the visual effects are spectacular and overshadow everything else in a way because Disney can afford to spare no expense.  Raffey Cassidy as Athena stood out to me as she does great job in her role as a robot who recruits specific people to enter the city.  This film is fundamental Disney fodder with some great special effects that will no doubt make millions because the kids are going to absolutely gobble it up.  Although this film is too long kids of all ages will flock to the theater to see this film because it is entertainment for teenagers.  Hitting the matinee would be best.
