UNCHARTED

Street-smart Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter, Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg), to recover a fortune amassed by Ferdinand Magellan, and lost 500 years ago by the House of Moncada (IMDB).

It was good to see Holland portraying another character other than Spiderman and I would guess he is happy also. Holland is extremely convincing as Drake and the writing is well-done because it is impossible not to care about what happens to this character. Wahlberg is wonderful as Sully, who you cannot trust completely because you are not sure if he will remain loyal because it seems that money is all he cares about no matter the cost. I must also mention Antonio Banderas who seems to be getting used to portraying the villain in this case as Santiago Moncada.

They spared no expense on the visual effects in this film because it is very well made. All the current technologies are used not only in the making of the film but what the characters use as the story goes along. I was in the mood for a fun wild ride going to see this movie and that is exactly what I got. Sure, it is not the smartest film I have ever seen and it is a bit predictable but it is just fodder that is fun to watch and exactly what I think people need.
