GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOLUME 3

Still reeling from the loss of Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) rallies his team to defend the universe and one of their own – a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians if not successful (IMDB).

I went into this film with low but hopeful expectations because, let’s face it, this is a third installment that usually does not bode well. Fortunately, I was amazed because this film is quite good. The plotline is solid, and all the usual characters are back, which is excellent. Sure, they are all back to their normal behavior. The notable difference here is watching Quill trying to recover from Gamora’s death. Plus, there is a new villain, The High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji), whose character is a solid addition to the MCU realm because he is purely egotistical, intelligent, and evil to his ends. I also enjoyed the recurring cameo appearances both old and new.

Believe it or not, I liked this film more than the second installment. As expected, the visual effects are spectacular, and the film would be completely different without them. I highly recommend seeing this film at an IMAX theater to enhance the experience.
