Review: HICKOK

Rating: 2 (Out of 5 Reels)

Legendary lawman and gunslinger, Wild Bill Hickok (Luke Hemsworth), is tasked with taming the wildest cow-town in the west. While delivering his own brand of frontier justice, the infamous gunfighter’s reputation as the fastest draw in the west is put to the test (IMDB).

I was looking forward to a good old western but all I got was a boring walk through the motions. I have seen Hemsworth in other roles and have liked him but he just could not carry this film because the writing. There is absolutely no depth in the acting and no suspenseful action because everything is quickly moving from scene to scene. This film seems to be working on autopilot including the plot, which is, wrote because we have seen it dozens of times before.

I am sure the younger crowd might find this film somewhat entertaining but I could not recommend spending time seeing this one in the theater. Wait for it to air on network television in a couple of years. Not even Kris Kristofferson could save this one.
