SXSW 2017 Film News: AS I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY

The premier pop culture event in the Rio Grande Valley, the South Texas Comic Con, returns for its fourth year and will be held at the McAllen Convention Center from April 28th to April 30th with a wide variety of activities for fans. The three day event offers panels with invited celebrities, kids costume contests, wrestling, Cosplay contest, workshops on varied topics and film screenings, among others that are listed on the website. 

The documentary “As I Walk Through The Valley” made its World Premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin last month and had a regional premiere earlier this month in Edinburg. Now, the South Texas Comic Con will host two screenings of the feature film on Friday and Saturday (April 28th and 29th) from 9pm-11pm). The films can be viewed for free to anyone who has a ticket to the South Texas Comic Con. The filmmakers, Charlie Vela and Ronnie Garza will be in attendance to conduct a brief Q&A after the film.
